Hello Cardiff!
Junior Star Singer took to the road again, this time in the amazing capital of Wales in Cardiff! This is the second year that it has been in Wales.
Cardiff was made a city in 1905, and made the capital in 1955. Since the 1980s, Cardiff has seen significant development. There has been a new waterfront area at Cardiff Bay which contains the Senedd Building, home to the Welsh Assembly and the Wales Millennium Centre Arts complex.
Our presenter in Wales, Connor Morgan from Radio Cardiff (pictured left), was joined by Joshua Whiffen 15, and Harriette Roberts who is 11, as well as Amanda Neale from JSS. Joshua Whiffen is a young artist who regularly watches the Eurovision song contest and has been inspired by it. His track has been inspired by winners from the Eurovision. He tells JSS presenter Amanda Neale how he is loves to watch the competition with his family and so perhaps may enter JSS Europe later on in the year. He has got his work experience at an old theatre school in Bristol as he is very much interested in pursuing a career in musical theatre. So look out for Joshua Whiffen in JSS UK and in JSS Europe. Good Luck Joshua!
Harriette Roberts is a young singer songwriter from Cardiff, Wales who has entered Junior Star Singer Songwriter 2018. From the very young age of seven, she has been writing her own original material, influenced by a classical style. Harriette, now 11 performs on her own and also with a band called 'The Pentagon' that she regularly rehearses with. She was interviewed by presenter Amanda Neale for JSS about how important it is to have a unique style in the current music industry. Harriette has attended the Royal College of Music where she has studied music theory. Her influence stems mainly from when she sang hymns in church from a very young age. She is hoping to go through to the Junior Star Singer final in December. Good Luck Harriette!
